The History of the Secret Laws of Attraction

Filed under Law of Attraction

The book the Secret by Rhonda Byrne brought the law(s) of attraction to mainstream media attention. Everyone from Larry King and Ellen DeGeneres to Oprah covered the book during it’s heyday in 2006.

Paris Hilton even mentioned the book saying, “The Secret such an amazing book. This is my third time reading it. I really do believe in it.” But, does this “law of attraction book” really work?

On the surface, it seems like as Paris said, “such an amazing book.” But the problem with the Secret is that it just glosses over what is a very powerful set of universal laws.

It’s Not Magic

It makes it sound like all you have to do is apply a little positive thinking and poof all will be right in your life. It’s not magic. The eleven universal laws that encompass the law of attraction are based on ancient knowledge and quantum theory.

Some people choose to label the laws as self-help hogwash. Those who do are generally looking for instant success without be willing to do the “work.” They’re likely trying to use the laws of attraction to get rich quick and easy. And when it doesn’t happen on their schedule they say it’s hogwash. Well, far from it!

The difference between most other self-help programs and choosing to apply the laws of attraction consistently to your life is that these universal laws are working whether you choose for them to or not.

Applying these universal laws consistently enough to change your life takes commitment and practice. You must be willing to do what most people won’t…take responsibility for the life you’re leading.

You can no more stop the laws of attraction from influencing your life as you can gravity. These laws are ever-present, ever-attracting things into your life whether you want them to or not.

There are eleven essential universal laws that govern our existence here in this place.

* The Law of Thinking
* The Law of Supply
* The Law of Attraction
* The Law of Receiving
* The Law of Increase
* The Law of Compensation
* The Law of Non-Resistance
* The Law of Forgiveness
* The Law of Sacrifice
* The Law of Obedience
* The Law of Success

Bob Proctor believes the other “ten forgotten laws” are just as important to success as is the law of attraction. When all eleven laws are learned and consistently applied in ones life, amazing things can be realized.

But it seems that the law of attraction is the one most people focus on. It states that which is like unto itself is drawn. Or like attracts like. But it’s much more complex than that.

The law of attraction is not just notion. It traces, in theory, to quantum physics. One of the things that Quantum Physics sets out to prove is that thought influences everything down to tiniest electron.

Albert Einstein’s E=mc2 is the basis for quantum physics. Einstein realized that matter and energy are just different forms of the same thing. They’re interchangeable at the molecular level. Matter can be transformed into energy, and energy into matter.

In addition, quantum theorists have run multiple experiments that prove that when one observes an electron and there is a preconceived idea where it might go, they found that where they expected it to go is just where it went.

This combined with Einstein’s theory has huge implications. If at the molecular level, matter and energy are interchangeable and thought can be used to influence it then it’s not such a leap to theorize that we create the world around us at the subatomic level based on our thoughts, expectations, and beliefs.

And perhaps that’s the way the world was meant to be. But as we “de-evolved,” we stopped using the parts of our self that made this possible. Modern science estimates that we only use a very small portion of our brain’s capacity perhaps roughly 10%.

If this is the case then maybe that other 90% can actually be cultivated through a mind-soul connection to manifest our very desires. Being able to make this kind of connection to the soul is what the law of attraction really is about.

For instance, the Yogis of Tibet exhibit phenomenal feats that seem simply unimaginable to other humans. Such as the art of putting themselves into such deep trances that, they are able to control the speed at which their own hearts beat.

Or, the practice of Tahumo where these very human men subject themselves to brutal conditions by sitting naked in below zero temperatures and drying wet towels on their backs. They are able to concentrate so completely that they generate enough intense body heat to complete this task.

It’s obvious that they have been able to tap into portions of their mind that the average person doesn’t use. It’s been stated if one can do it then all can do it. Meaning maybe using our thoughts and feelings to manifest our desires isn’t such hogwash after all. It’s just a matter of making that mind-soul connection.

Law of Attraction in Religion

The mind-soul connection theory has existed long before quantum physics was ever a thought. All eleven universal laws have roots in ancient religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, and Kabala, as well as Christianity.

However, what we understand as modern day Law of Attraction is based on the New Thought movement of the early 1900’s. The New Thought movement is a collection of ideals that emphasis there is one absolute Universal Consciousness-God or creative intelligence.

In New Thought God exists as a presence not a being. This presence is omnipresent. God exists everywhere continuously and simultaneously throughout the whole of creation. And God manifests in essence in all of us.

New Thought believes that through meditation, prayer, and positive thinking you can access the universal consciousness or God force that lies within you. And this is the true nature of all. To become one with the God force that equally encompasses all of us.

Connecting with the God force allows us to live a more fulfilled happy and peaceful life. Once you’ve connected to this stream of consciousness anything is possible. Including manifesting your deepest desires based on your core beliefs and connection with the God force.

And from these very theories is where the modern day version of the laws of attraction was born. Whether you’re a believer or a skeptic isn’t living a happy, peaceful, and fulfilled life all you want? Think about it and it just might happen.

The “Catch” To Mastering Manifestation

Filed under Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction works like this: We attract whatever images we have of ourselves and our desires in our subconscious mind – whether positive or negative.

Most of the time, we attract by “default” rather than by deliberate choice. We just sort of go through our day, focusing on problems that need to be solved or on things that did not feel good nor seem right. In so doing, we are actually creating more problems; more of what does not feel good and more of what does not seem right.

Most Law of Attraction techniques are taught from the standpoint that what we attract is based on what we think about during our waking hours with our conscious daily mind. It isn’t. That is why Law of Attraction methods based on that premise do not work. This results in frustration and in many people walking away from learning to use their powers of attraction because they falsely believe that it is bunk.

The truth is that The Law of Attraction does work. All of the time, every time. The problem is that many people are being taught ineffective methods and getting few, if any, positive results.

The Law of Attraction does not care how flashy your website is, how many commercials you show, how many movies you make, how many seminars you do or books, CDs and other products you sell. It doesn’t care how famous you are or how many endorsements you get from other people.

The Law only cares about what triggers it to work.

And, The Law is Universal because it does not matter who you are, where you live, what your religious beliefs are or what year you were born. The Law is true for everyone equally. It is as true as the Law of Gravity.

Think of a huge magnet. The kind that pulls metal to itself from afar off. It doesn’t “try” to attract, it simply does attract. All people work the same way. We are magnets. Whether or not we are trying to attract, we do. And we attract the likeness of what we have in our subconscious mind. And what gets planted in our subconscious mind is where the solution sits.

To change your outer world and attract the things that you want, you have to learn how to program your “inner mind” or subconscious. When you are able to control what resides in your subconscious, that is when you will see all sorts of miracles start to happen. However, these “miracles” are not miracles at all. It is simply The Law working the way that it always does. It brings any and all people, things and circumstances necessary to manifest the image you have of yourself that resides in your subconscious. And as you now know, The law does not care if that image is is good or bad.

That is why you must learn to control your subconscious and plant into it the images of the good things that you want to have happen in your life.

Another thing that you need to know is that The Law of Attraction is not based on your “deserving” it or on how hard you work. That is difficult for most people to accept because we are told from birth that we have to “earn” everything. You have to change that mindset.

In part, Mastering The Law Of Attraction is:

1. Getting very clear about what you desire

2. Matching your inner mind (subconscious) to what you desire

3. Allowing The Law to bring the people, things and circumstances to you to manifest that desire.

I have been where you are. I held onto some self-limiting beliefs for a very long time; so long, that I no longer recognized them. Yet they were still in my subconscious canceling out what I truly desired.

However, I changed all of that. And so can you.

You are seriously seeking the answer to getting The Law to work for you the way you want in order to make your life better. That is how you found this document and why you are reading it. This is proof of The Law of Attraction at work right now.

I’ll show you how to harness The Law by using methods that work every time. Once you learn them, you’ll start to avoid attracting negative things into your life and start attracting the good things that you really want to happen.

Manifesting Love with The Law of Attraction

Filed under Law of Attraction, Love

The law of attraction says, we attract into our reality the objects/situations that matched our predominant thoughts. The quality of our thoughts shapes the kind of person we are, so we also attract the people who are like us.

Take this story for example:

One afternoon, Nasruddin and his friend were sitting in a cafe, drinking tea, and talking about life and love. “How come you never got married, Nasruddin?” asked his friend at one point. “Well,” said Nasruddin, “to tell you the truth, I spent my youth looking for the perfect woman. In Cairo, I met a beautiful and intelligent woman, with eyes like dark olives, but she was unkind. Then in Baghdad, I met a woman who was a wonderful and generous soul, but we had no interests in common. One woman after another would seem just right, but there would aways be something missing. Then one day, I met her. She was beautiful, intelligent, generous and kind. We had everything in common. In fact she was perfect.” “Well,” said Nasruddin?s friend, “what happened? Why didn’t you marry her? Nasruddin sipped his tea reflectively. “Well,” he replied, “it’s a sad thing. Seems she was looking for the perfect man.”

Nasruddin attracted for himself a woman just like him, “someone who’s looking for the perfect partner.” If he had made himself into a perfect man according to his own ideals, he would have found and married the perfect woman.

When using the law of attraction to manifest a romantic relationship in your life, you have to be the kind of person you want to attract yourself. If you are on the chubby side, don’t focus on attracting men who are lean, or muscular. Open yourself up also to the men who have the same body build as you have. If you don’t like chubby men, lose weight first.

Love Quotes: Manifesting and Finding True Love

That is the second important requirement. The first is loving yourself.

In order to start using the law of attraction for romance, international relationship expert and renowned hypnotherapist, Tanya Haden Tebb suggested you start answering these seven questions:

1. Define the type of relationship you want

“I want to meet the man of my dreams,” isn’t going to cut it. Be specific (e.g., “I want to find a husband who is passionate about his career and loves kids. He enjoys cycling and picnics in the park.” or “I desire to have a wild love affair with a French man who has curly black hair and brown eyes.” or “I would love to go on a romantic date with a man who buys me flowers and makes me laugh.”).

2. How does this man treat you?

(e.g., He takes me out to dinner, buys me flowers, holds my hand, finds my jokes funny, tells me I am beautiful, pampers me and treats me like a princess, rubs my feet after a long day…)

3. How does it feel when you are with him?

(e.g., I tremble when he brushes past me, my heart beats faster when I hear his name, we talk and talk for hours as if we have known each other for years, I feel safe when his strong arms are around me, it is like music to my ears when I hear his laughter…)

4. What does he look like?

(e.g., He has a warm smile, big muscles, blonde hair and green eyes, black hair and brown eyes, curly brown hair, tall/short, dark/fair skinned, freckles…))

5. What does he do for fun?

(e.g., Work out at the gym, listen to/play music, cycle, play golf/football/tennis, eat out, go to bars/clubs, hiking, mountain climbing, reading, swimming, travel…)

6. Where will you meet this man?

(e.g., I meet him at an airport, sports bar, night club, on the internet, through friends, by chance, at a wedding, in the grocery/video store, library, at the beach, gym, tennis club…)

7. How will you know you’ve found him?

(e.g., He proposes to me on a starry night. We are lying together on a sandy beach listening to the waves crashing against the shore. I wake up in the morning to find him making me breakfast in the kitchen. Our eyes meet across a crowded room and he comes over and asks me to dance…) [1]

Ms. Tebb should add another question to this list and it should be placed at number 1. The list should include, “Will I be attracted to myself ?”

The law of attraction will always work for you if you let it. And before you get busy with your “man project” (or woman project) remember to look for love for the sake of sharing love, not just because you want to be loved. Relationships require commitment and commitment requires selflessness. This is the reason why you have to learn to love yourself first.

Good Luck!
