Prosperity – A Way of Life

by Dr Kevin Ross Emery

Have you ever ridden a bike?

Think of this: It’s a beautiful day. You’re enjoying the many gifts that Mother Nature provides. Then without realizing it, you become enamored by a particularly beautiful grove of trees on the side of the bike path.

Suddenly, wham! You and the grove just tried to become one. Do you know why? Ultimately, you will always land wherever you are headed.

Once your eyes became fixed on the grove of trees, the rest of you followed. I revisited that lesson a few years ago when I was learning to mountain bike in Colorado. There, beautiful vistas are often accompanied by thousand foot drops. Thankfully, it wasn’t a painful lesson. Just in time, I remembered to look away.

My point? Our global economy has shifted. We’ve all watched Wall Street rise and fall as if it’s on a roller coaster. Headlines often remind us of troubled mortgages, urgent bailouts, and worldwide financial emergencies. During this time, where have your eyes been focused? To put it another way: Consciously or unconsciously, where is your bike headed?

It’s foolish to be the proverbial ostrich with your head in the sand. However, there is a difference between noticing and focusing. Decide now that you are not going to focus on the “end of the world as we know it.” So, what do you focus on?

I want prosperity, I want riches,

Working very hard is not just the answer

Learn my secret to overflowing prosperity

=======================

Focus on what you’re grateful for. Take an inventory of the good things in your life, as well as the good things in yourself. Where are you already prosperous? Do you have good health? Good relationships? Good family and friends? Look at the things you have to celebrate.

First, focus on the best. Then, plan for the worst. Take stock of the best ways to be prepared if something does happen. Don’t do this from a place of negativity or fear. Just have a sound, well thought-out plan. With that on hand, you can avoid panic or hasty measures that could make things worse.

If there has already been a negative impact to you and your family’s lifestyle, assess what you still have instead of what you have lost.

See where new opportunities present themselves. Is there something you have always wanted to do? Could you get support to be retrained for something new? Looking at it as an exciting adventure will make it one. If you look at it as the worst thing ever, that will also make it so, at least for the moment.

First, last, and foremost, talk with God, Goddess, Creator, the Universe or the Angels. Then, once you have stopped talking, be quiet and listen. Allow yourself to be guided to the place where your new life awaits you.

5-Minute Meditation: Flower of Change

Take a moment alone and settle into your body. Close your eyes, relax and breathe… deeply, slowly.

Visualize yourself walking through the woods. Glistening, new-fallen snow carpets the trail beneath your feet. Breathe in the cool air and feel it refreshing you.

Exhale slowly, letting all your worries out with your breath. Spirit is with you and you are expanding your consciousness to take in the life-giving love that Spirit wants to share with you.

Up ahead, you see a beautiful, golden wildflower, standing tall, growing right in the middle of the snow. There is a glorious, warm, loving light beaming out from this amazing flower.

As you step closer to this flower you feel its light permeating you, and you feel lighter, like a weight has lifted. The purest love is flowing all through your entire body, energizing you.

Now think of something you’d like to change in your life. Imagine yourself experiencing this change in total harmony, success coming to you with incredible ease. See yourself celebrating your success. Feel the fulfillment, the joy, the peace that comes from living your dream. Take it all in. Let yourself bask in the glow of this feeling and continue breathing.

When you feel ready, give gratitude to your golden wildflower in the snow for its light and for helping you bring this wonderful change to fruition.

Walking back through the woods, you see that same loving light beaming out from you, too. Extend this light to everyone you meet.

Open your eyes, stretch and return to your day, renewed and energized.

The Universe & You

The universe I am referring to here is the entire cosmos — the entire cosmic consciousness. The vast realm of interconnected powerfully pulsating energy of everything that is good, bountiful, & beautiful. You may call it God or the universal love. I believe in the pureness & the power of love. I believe that this energy embodies everything that is good & beautiful.

As you are one with this consciousness of good, bountiful & beautiful, so is your life. You have everything that is good, your life is bountiful & you have everything that is beautiful. In short, you are loved & you are love.

This interconnected consciousness is a source of power that never runs out. It is everlasting & it is consistent. It does not discriminate, it just IS. Just learn to accept & embrace your connection to the power source. Acknowledge that you are loved day in & day out 24×7x365 1/4 days!

It is also the nature of the universe to FLOW. In case you haven’t noticed we are always moving forward. A day turns into night, the sun rises, & sets and it’s a brand new day. Since we are one with it, our nature too is to flow — improvement, progress, moving forward & being free. It is against our very nature to be stuck in the past or be unable to live the life we are meant to live. We hinder our own progress by willingly constricting the flow of energy in our lives. If we choose not to move forward, the energy that accumulates in us is that of the past which maybe hurtful or negative.

The book Manifesting Your Heart’s Desire cited a story about a girl who was watering the garden with a hose. The flow of the water suddenly stopped so she complained to her father. The father said, “Don’t step on the hose.” So is our energy flow. We are deliberately stepping on our energy line if we continually live with the EGO rather than our SOUL.

However, Steve Pavlina in The War on Ego has this to say about dealing with the EGO,

Instead of trying to disidentify from the ego, we need to embrace the ego while merging it with a sense of oneness. We need to be aware of our individual identities while simultaneously developing an expanded sense of global consciousness. Then we need to make sure both of these levels of awareness are aligned.
