Bridging the Gap Between Christianity and the New Age

So often these days, we pick up newspapers or tune in to radio or television programs which highlight yet another attack by one religious group against the beliefs of another. One of the primary targets is a group of spiritual and philosophical concepts described as “New Age.”

For many people exploring New Age philosophies, these attacks can seem personal, particularly for those of us raised in traditional Christian homes. In many cases, we turn our backs on the dogma and judgment, and seek guidance from other venues.

However, as we turn away we often discard everything, without regard for that which might hold some truth for us.

Many of the tenets of Christianity, in its purest form, are not only compatible with New Age philosophy, but are the basis of it. The time has come to examine the core of Christian beliefs which, unfortunately, have been obscured by centuries of human agenda and dogma.

In my personal quest to realign myself with this information, which had become so distasteful to me, I began to seek guidance from many sources. One of the most extraordinary and surprising of these sources has been the amazing presence of Simon Peter.

On August 2, 1996, I was booked to do an evening of trance channeling in New Orleans. On that hot, summer evening we were visited for the first time by the powerful presence of Simon Peter.

Since that time, Simon has appeared dozens of times, always full of information and insights to help bridge New Age thought with the traditions of Christianity.

According to Simon, too many people have thrown away the teachings of Jesus, based on what some have done to those teachings from places of fear and hatred.

Here, I offer you a segment of that first appearance of the empowering channeled messages of Simon Peter.

“I am the one you would know by the name of Simon, also known as Simon Peter. I have come here to speak to you of the ways in which you may embrace your own glory to the kingdom. I have come here to speak to you as I did in life, I shall do in death, but to serve the one Master, the one God of creation.

“I have come to speak to you and help you find that God who is within your hearts, your souls, who is in every cell of your body and being.

“I am a fisher of men. Disciples, we were called disciples. We are disciples of the God. It is the God that you call God, that you call Jehovah. It is the God that you call Christ. I am the son of the father and am here to tell you that you are the sons and the daughters of the same father that I am the son of the father. You must but embrace the father to go on.

“I am here to speak to you about my friend. My friend Jesus. Do you know my friend Jesus? Or, do you know of him? For if you know of him, you still have him on the cross. But if you know my friend Jesus, you took him off that cross long ago.

“It was poorly written about, this life, the life of the man that you call Jesus. It was not written about well at all. He was a gentle and kind man. He was made hard and unforgiving by those who are hard and unforgiving. I have come here to speak to you about the gentleness. If you can but put aside the hard and unforgiving natures within your own selves, you will find the gentleness of the father.

“You may light one candle. I taught one man to fish. Is there a difference? Each of you here must be a disciple to the God that you find that lies within the center essence of who you are. It was the addiction to those things which gave pleasure on a sensual level that created the building of the temples. It was my brother, my friend, Jesus who destroyed the temples, for that was not where God was housed. The God is housed within you.

“When one is imperfect and tries to report on perfection, one does it imperfectly. When one communicates with the energy, the God energy, the energy that is within and without, that is pervasive like the air, and part of each part of you, that you can know the perfection of that energy from within. But put words to it, and you have imperfected it. Be it and you shall be the shining beacon. He was a gentle man. A loving man.

“Who remembers the story of the fig tree? It makes me sad. As you shall read it as it was written in its imperfection, you read of Jesus going to the fig tree and it had not a fig on it. And because it had not a fig to offer Jesus, he touched it and made it wither. And the lesson was supposed to be that if you had faith, you could make the fig tree wither or the mountains move. And it was not so.

“God went to the fig tree, through Jesus, and said to the fig tree, ‘Will you blossom for me and give me your essence so I may continue? Will you willingly do this for me?’ And the fig tree said, ‘Nay, I will not. I will not do this for you. It is my time of rest. And you in the form of man have not been kind to me. So why should I do this for you?’

“And Jesus said to the tree, ‘But do you not recognize me? I come in the servitude of God.’ And the fig tree said, ‘That is your servitude. Mine is to Mother Earth.’ And with that, he withered the fig tree. And he withered it for it would not open itself up to recognize its own God nature, and sent it back to Mother so that it may be born again, and grow again.

“Can you see the difference between the story I have told you and the story you were told?”

By re-examining our Christian beliefs and their foundations, we may see a clear and simple bridge between Christianity and the New Age. Thankfully, messages like this one and historical discoveries are revealing the core of Christianity and its broad, dogma-free applications to our lives.

7 Colours That Can Reflect Your Mood

I have a friend, who shall be nameless for obvious reasons as I love her dearly. This friends favourite colour is red. Her car is red, flowers in her garden are red, she wears red, her lipstick is red. Need I say more – everything is red. She is a go-getter and the speed with which she embraces life is past the speed limit. So recently I was very interested to read on how wearing certain colours can reflect our mood.

We do react to colour, and scientists have ascertained that each colour transmits a unique message to the brain which impacts our moods in different ways. Consider the list of colours below and consider how your own clothes and decor can enhance particular moods.

Red

Red is a stimulating and energizing colour. It also enhances self-assurance; what woman in a fiery red dress doesn’t exude confidence. Red will produce an illusion of fantasy. It can promote opposition in others ( you have been warned) If you want to be attention-getting, feel powerful and dominate – wear red. The colour also symbolizes love. It is a hot and passionate color. Red is said to increase the appetite, so you may want to keep it out of the dining room unless you’re having a dinner party. In the bedroom, red light helps sexual activity, and could lead to active nights.

Yellow

To wear yellow will rejuvenate and balance the mind. It wipes out the feeling of heaviness and oppression. Yellow is a sunny and reflective and is a pensive colour. It will lift ones mood to be positive and optimistic.

Orange

This is also the colour of love. It is perhaps a little less serious and a little more fun. Wear it to lift your love life. Orange is a very high energy colour imparting boldness and distinction. Is about being different. Like red and yellow, orange is stimulating. It is an antidepressant and also stimulates the mind. Anyone with a desire to sharpen and add focus and purpose to their life can do with a little orange. ( It is potent, do not add too much)

Green

Green is relaxing and tranquil to the eyes. It reduces stress and brings a feeling of tranquility. It presents natural healing and balance. Wear it to inspire harmony in others and restore your energy. It is the second most popular color. Green is symbolic of faithfulness and unity and hope. It is quick to help others even at their own expense. It represents dependability and tactfulness.

Pink

The colour pink is trendy. Its a girly color and is a symbol of innocence and beauty. Pink has a soothing effect. It also speaks of pure love. It is a romantic color, while red is hot and passionate. It also is bright, vibrant, a strong and healthy color.

Blue

Blue relaxes muscles, lowers blood pressure and was found to have a calming effect on hyperactive children. Blue causes a slight psychological change which results in people feeling less hungry. I don’t think you could call it a weight loss program though. Blue is also regarded to be effective for increasing wisdom energy. It is the color of peace, tranquility and is excellent in increasing spiritual meditation and healing.

Purple

Purple balances the mind, brings serenity and combats fear. It’s connected with psychic powers and helps wake up that aspect. Its also the colour that speaks of royalty. Purple stands out in a crowd.

In conclusion; consider the colours you are wearing – maybe you can create the mood you want to reflect. The chose is yours!

The Seven Steps To Abundance

Manifesting with the Law of Attraction

Here are my thoughts and steps on how to to “design a life” ..instead of been blown about by the winds of life (like a paper bag), or the currents, like a jelly-fish. Enough similes!

1.Find the VISION. Unless you know where you’re going, you are unlikely to get there. Any place where you are is a good place to start.

Ask yourself:

What activities have you most enjoyed in the last 10 years?

What is fun? What do you treasure?

What do you most want to be doing in the next 10 years?

I’d love to write, help and hopefully even inspire others.

Which of your strengths and weaknesses are a joy to you?

What do people say you are good at?

What is special about you?

List ideally what would you be doing? Living at the beach, writing and travelling…and be financially secure, of course!

Ideally what would you want to be? A successful author was my goal.

Ask WHY do you need those things? What are those status symbols for?

Define your vision. Write it down in less than 10 words. Does it involve other people?

What do I most want to be doing? Why?

What do I most care about? Why?

What steps can I take to move me closer to doing what I really want to do with my life?

Find your niche – your unique skills?

Think about WHO will pay you to enjoy yourself. Instead of worrying about being sacked, think who will pay you to have fun?

Where do you want to work? With whom, in what sort of company? Look for a picture of your ideal environment: home, as well as work.

3. PLAN ahead carefully. Doing this reduces false starts and wrong directions. Most people spend more time planning their annual holiday than they do their “blueprint for life”.

Put it all down in writing. My advice: “Think big, but start small”.

The prominent American psychologist, Carl Rogers said: “The only real security is the preparedness to embrace insecurity”. Be the YOU you most intend to be? Take stock, review your plan and prioritize your life goals.

4. Make the COMMITMENT. Stop saying you’re going to do it and actually DO IT. Put in the work and write out the cheques. This involves going past the point of no return. Make commitments: to yourself, to your loved ones in terms of time, energy and money. Then stick to it and take full responsibility for the outcome.

5. Spell out the details of the PLAN. Think it all through and concentrate hard. What are you going to do? How are you going to do it, step by step? What needs to be done and in what order of priority? What resources do you have at your disposal? What are your expenditure needs? Reaffirm your commitment through a personal budget. Be flexible in your thinking, as circumstances usually change…and we can’t foresee the future. And most importantly, THINK BIG.

6. Develop a network of people to help you achieve your goals (and you can help them achieve their goals at the same time). First, you must be aware of them. It’s a “win-win” situation. Be enthusiastic at all times, because enthusiasm is catching.

7. Take ACTION, that first step…then the next will follow naturally …and far more easily. Nothing can stop you now. “Roll up the sleeves” and get down to work. I believe the first prerequisite for success is loving what you do. I love writing, although it’s very lonely (and probably the world’s most solitary occupation). Always remember, life is not a 100 metres sprint – it’s a marathon. So rest when you feel you need to and don’t feel guilty about it (something I have to learn!). Have fun along the journey. Perservere and persist in your quest.

Take responsibility for your own abundance and your learning throughout the ‘game of life’. Appreciate your abundance daily and give thanks to the Universe for what you do have.

Have faith in yourself – believe deeply in yourself, but even more deeply in a Power far Greater than yourself… who loves you and wants what’s best for you. The spiritual journey may take far longer than you thought, so be patient.

NB:

Always remember,

The measure of success is not money, but learning and growth.

Measure success in learning and growth – nothing else is important. Work is a place each of us creates in order to grow. It is the laboratory for experimenting with our potential

10. When working for yourself, this is a time of unprecedented change in your life. Work allows you to put into place skills and knowledge acquired through education. It is a time to experiment with our potential and the various demands made upon us. Initially we learn to work in teams, working towards a common objective. Then gradually in our working careers we learn to take on more and more responsibility.

Believe you deserve to be abundant – though not more than others. It’s a matter of finding a balance between your ambitions and your responsibilities. Be accountable and socially responsible.

You can’t force people to change. Listen to your intuition, truth and love. That is the “voice” of the Higher Power, God speaking to you.
