Effective & Healthy Weight Loss Techniques

Most, if not all overweight and obese persons have lower overall quality of life, have higher health risks, lower self esteem, and decreased mobility. What with all the publicities about hourglass-figured & slim celebrities seen almost everywhere, one cannot help but be aware of the differences in figures. Weight loss can do wonders for a person’s life because it increases self confidence and self concept (except of course if the weight loss is due to a medical condition). So it is not surprising that people with weight problems are clamoring for weight loss techniques that are really effective in banishing those unsightly fats.

The first and safest thing to do before starting a weight loss program is to consult a physician. Your weight loss regimen must be tailored according to your physical health. If you have a heart problem, you cannot participate in a rigorous exercise training. There is no such thing as “losing weight rapidly”. Weight loss should be gradual to allow your body to adjust to the changes that are happening. People wanting to lose weight effectively and in a healthy way should remember these 4 things: eat right, change behaviors and habits, exercise, and be patient & stay motivated.

Here are 4 tips to effective and healthy weight loss tips

1. For a weight loss technique to be effective, the person must have a strong determination to lose weight & must be deeply committed to his/her weight loss regimen. Do not do it alone because you are not alone. Join a support group. Practice meditation, self hypnosis and positive self talk to help strengthen your determination and put you in the right mindset. Monitor your success but do not celebrate it by ruining your diet. Keep your goals realistic and be patient. If you weigh 300 lbs now, do not expect it to reduce to 150 lbs in 1 month.

2. Consult a dietitian or a nutritionist about a healthy weight loss diet and healthy eating habits. These professionals can be found in the phone book’s yellow pages. Overweight people find it hard to perform exercise and it is less effective for these people. Weight loss must start with the proper diet and modification in eating habits.

3. Increase physical activities. Weight loss results when your caloric intake is less than your caloric expenditure. Start at a level that is tolerated and gradually increase it. Park your car a little farther than your usual. If it is just 1 flight up, use the stairs. If it is not too far, walk to the grocery store, the post office or church. It is best to undergo a thorough physical examination and consult a professional to design an appropriate exercise program for you.

4. Lastly, do not just focus on the “weight loss” instead aim for the ideal weight, a healthy body and general well-being. Keep your body refreshed with adequate fluid intake. Reduce stress with good relaxation techniques. Keep your mind productive and creative with enough rest & sleep.

Discipline, patience and the right mindset are keys to an effective weight loss regimen. A sound nutritional plan & appropriate physical exercise followed religiously get better and, most of all, permanent result.

Applying the Law of Attraction to Weight Loss

The basic premise of the law of attraction is that you attract what is most predominant in your mind. The energy you are vibrating will magnetize into your reality the experience that matches that energy. That is the law of attraction.

It is possible to apply the law of attraction if you are trying to lose weight. The procedure is easy enough. You just have to imagine yourself already in that ideal body. Tell yourself you already have that ideal body or pretend that you already have the ideal body. Wish it were that easy!

Like any other application of the law of attraction, your worst enemy is yourself. Sometimes it is hard to get past the reality of our situation. Having a weight that is not ideal does not only affect your physical health, but your emotional and mental health as well. Seldom can you find people who are overweight or obese but very confident and secure. With the hour-glass figures of celebrities plastered everywhere one can’t help but be painfully aware of the differences.

If you are overweight or obese and you look at yourself on the mirror, you will see an image that you do not like. It is hard not to feel frustrated at what we are seeing. However, the law of attraction requires that you transcend beyond what you see in your reality. Here are some tips on how to apply the law of attraction to your weight loss goal.

  1. Know the real reason why you want to lose weight. Your reason for losing those extra weight must be compelling enough to overcome your desire to eat and eat, and it must be strong enough to drive you to regular exercise and other physical activities. The creation of an object or the fulfillment of something starts with a desire (or fear). A strong desire to lose weight breeds passion and commitment for your weight loss goal and the energy of that desire can trigger the law of attraction and the creative process.
  2. Suspend doubt. The law of attraction is a phenomenon that needs your faith in the unknown and in your own power to manifest your ideal body. It is not seeing is believing but believing is seeing.
  3. Activate the law of attraction by affirming that you already have a healthy and beautiful body. Affirm with conviction. Affirm with belief. Affirm with emotion. Declare it out to the entire universe that you already have the ideal weight.
  4. Be an imageneer. Design your body to your own specifications. Do this by employing the power of creative visualization. By constantly seeing your ideal body in your mind, you will activate the law of attraction into manifesting the same picture in your reality.
  5. Do not just dawdle in your room with your day dreams. Take actions! You will not lose weight if you will not modify your eating habits and exercise. Remember that the law of attraction does not equate to the law of no efforts, but to the law of least efforts. It is true that your job when applying the law of attraction is to tell the universe that this is what you want. In response, the universe will provide you with opportunities to achieve this goal. It is now your job to make use of these opportunities.A friend of mine who wanted to lose weight was looking for a gym to enroll in. She has a requirement for the location, the equipment available, the people and the general “atmosphere” of a gym. She has inspected many gyms already, but most of them only fill some of her requirements not all. She “accidentally” found it when she was made to wait an hour in her dentist’s clinic. Somebody left a leaflet of a newly opened gym. It listed the equipment she wants and the location is great. She lost no time in visiting the gym and it was what she was hoping for. She told me she has been affirming and listing down her gym requirements over and over for the past days.
  6. Know how to handle frustrations. Anthony Robbins listed this as one of the five keys to wealth and happiness. The road to great achievements is never wide and easy. It is never without frustrations and pain. The law of attraction has taught us to think of our goal as already achieved. It is not always an easy order to follow, but if you think about it there are actually no other alternatives. Thinking negatively will only depress you and will not get you any nearer to your goal. On the other hand, thinking positively about your weight loss goal will inspire you to stick to your exercise regimen and control your desire to over eat.

The use of the law of attraction to lose weight may lead you to find more helpful information about weight loss, a free consultation with a dietitian or a nutritionist about eating right, finding out you’re a natural in a particular sport, better support groups, more sources for motivation, improved self-confidence, and most of all your ideal body.
