Seven Tips to Become a More Positive Thinker

Published by Other Authors under Positive Thinking

Have you ever noticed how good things happen to good people? There’s no mistake here. These people didn’t just “get lucky” but instead were proactive within their lives as opposed to simply reacting to things as they occur. They created the experiences they have beginning with the thoughts they think. How does this work?

Positive thoughts lead to positive feelings. These feelings lead to positive emotions. These emotions then promote positive behaviors. Finally, the positive behavior creates positive outcomes. In applying these steps to a real example, it may look something like this.

Let’s say you’re thinking about how nice it will be to spend some quality time with someone you love. Just thinking about the time you’ll spend makes you feel good. Maybe you’re feeling content, loved and happy. Those feelings lead to positive emotions such as love or joy. When you’re experiencing emotions such as love or joy, you’re more inclined to behave in a way which is in line with those feelings. Maybe you’re more supportive, loving or compassionate as a result. Because you’re more supportive or compassionate, you have more to give and behave in a manner which is conducive to showing your compassion. You may be more inclined to say or do something nice to someone, simply because you feel good.

Your random act of kindness (whether through words or deeds) may just be what the person on the other end needed. Maybe they were having a difficult day and your kind word or gesture enabled them to gain a better perspective and turn their day around. The immediate outcome may be that you’ve helped another person smile, feel valued or appreciated. The more extended outcome is that they now experience more positive thoughts which then turn it into a feeling, emotion, behavior and the cycle continues.

This entire scenario all came from just one of your positive thoughts! We have millions of thoughts throughout the course of a typical day. If more of them were positive, can you see how powerful this can be?

So if becoming a more positive thinker is on your to-do list, here are a few simple ways to begin.

1.Retrain your negative thoughts. For every negative thought you have, counter it with something positive. For example, “I’m so fat” can be countered with “I’m making healthy changes every day.”

2.Show gratitude. Here’s where you acknowledge, validate and appreciate all that you have. You recognize how blessed you are and show appreciation for all that you have and see.

3.Read positive quotes/books. Get ideas and inspiration from gurus, teachers and mentors. Learn how others create a positive outlook and get ideas from them. Also, learning from others can show you how they’ve managed difficult situations. It’s a great way to learn how they’ve turned obstacles into opportunities and used adversity as a learning tool or stepping stone to achieve something better.

4.Surround yourself with positive people. Just as how laughter is infectious, the positive thoughts, emotions and feelings from others can be infectious too. Besides being more positive, these people are also much more pleasant to be around.

5.Believe. Believe you can be a more positive thinker. You will or won’t become a more positive thinker based on your belief that you can or can’t.

6.Laugh. Not only does laughter feel good, but it’s good for your health. Studies show that laughter promotes the release of “feel good” chemicals within your body which helps to strengthen the immune system. What a funny reason to lighten up!

7.Control your thoughts. While you can’t control many things, you can always control your reaction to them. That means that an unfortunate situation can be either a minor bump in the road or a complete devastation…it’s up to you.

This holiday season, there will be many opportunities to become angry and upset or enlightened and enriched. The choice is always yours but as long as you do have a choice, why not choose to become a more positive thinker. By helping yourself you never know just how many other lives you may touch as a result.

Self Image and Beliefs

Published by Other Authors under Law of Attraction

Before you can use The Law of Attraction, and all the other great tools I teach, to create every good thing you want in your life, you must be ready to accept all those good things.

For many of us this is the hardest part. How many times has somebody offered to help you, maybe offered to pay for a shared taxi or something, and you have said “Oh no, that’s alright, I’ll pay”. Well if you can’t accept a taxi fair from a friend, how are you ever going to accept the new life you want from the Universe?

This may be due to a deep seated belief you are probably not even conscious of. It probably goes something like this: “I am really not a very good person so I don’t deserve to have the things that I want. Remember that awful thing I did twenty years ago, I deserve to be punished not rewarded”.

Come on! That was a long time ago. You have grown and evolved since then. You would not do the same thing today. Make amends if you can, and if you can’t just forgive yourself anyway and move on. And remember, you would not be the kind, loving, wise being you are today had you not gone through that and learnt its lessons.

You may not be able to make amends with the people you hurt but what goes around comes around so you can make up for it by helping other people, the people who are in your life now, instead. And if ever you run into those earlier people again just say, “I am sorry, I know I hurt you but I was being the best person I knew how to be at the time. I know how to be a very much better person now and I am using that knowledge to help others”.

As I said, you may not be aware of any of this on the surface. Consciously you may think you are a pretty ok kind of person. However if you find your self talk saying things like “I could never have that” or “I could never stay in that hotel” or “I could never fly first class”, stop and ponder. Do you have an unworthy undercurrent running through your subconscious?

Self image is the way we see ourselves and how we feel about ourselves. It can be complex and multi-faceted. Its important to try and connect with our self image, to bring it into the open where we can work on it. At various times each day ask yourself “How do I feel about myself right now?” Really listen to the answer. For this exercise its important to really listen to the answer. Don’t instantly replace anything negative with a positive affirmation as any self respecting Law of Attraction practitioner normally would. Later but not yet. First listen to the message and it will reveal an undercurrent of false beliefs you never even knew exited.

You can also look in the mirror and ask yourself “How do I look to myself right now?” Yes its ok for the boys to do this as well as the girls. If asking this question makes you feel fat and ugly, skinny, hairy, bald, bloated, maybe you need to give yourself more love and affection, more nurturing. Yes it really is ok to love ourselves, indeed it is essential. We are not being conceited. In fact we cannot love anyone else, our family, friends, pet, the planet, until we first develop a healthy love for ourselves.

Once we have discovered our negative undercurrents we have started to replace them. Affirmations and creative visualisation are great tools to help us develop a healthy self love and a positive self image.

The reason our self image may not be accurate is that we have been brainwashed since birth to believe we are inadequate. Affirmations, creative visualisation and suggestion audio programmes are brainwashing too but now we are doing the brainwashing to ourselves, now we are fighting back.

Always try to think of your own better qualities and remind yourself of them often.

Law of Attraction and Diseases and Handicaps: Attraction as Well?

Published by Other Authors under Law of Attraction

Recently I was approached by a fellow coach from the UK, and her question was –paraphrased- this: if the Law of Attraction (LOA) always works, how come that some seemingly happy people still contract (fatal) illnesses, and how come that some children are born mentally or physically handicapped? Have these people “attracted” (as in the LOA) these events? And if so, why have they done that?

My belief is that we attract everything we experience. All the people, situations, events, emotions and thoughts are coming to us because of LOA. A fact is that we all vibrate (ask the quantum scientists!). A fact is also that like vibrations attract like vibration like iron filings to a magnet. Given these facts, I choose to believe that yes, even illnesses and disabilities are attracted by us because of the vibration we emit.

I totally realize that this can be a hard thing to swallow for the people who go through these situations. There are a couple of things I would like you to realize in this context:

• LOA doesn’t discriminate between “good” or “bad” vibrations. It just matches the vibration we put out there. “Good” and “bad” are judgments WE make about what’s happening, depending on our personal beliefs. What’s good for one is lousy for another, and vice versa. Generally we tend to think of illnesses and disabilities as “bad”, but that is OUR value we put on it.
• We generally DO NOT put out vibrations intentionally, on purpose –learning how to vibrate deliberately is what I teach! So even though things may seem to go okay, there is always a chance of unconscious attraction, based upon underground collective beliefs, cultural beliefs, genetic beliefs, community beliefs, national beliefs, etc. Again, these vibes can be positive or negative, but we’ll only know when the “event” or “experience” shows up.
• There is no “REASON WHY” per se. There can only be a why depending on our ideas about our purpose in life. And what we perceive to be our purpose on earth is such a personal topic that generalize answers to the “why does this happen” question can not be given. It will be different for each and every person.

Our task with scenarios like the ones my fellow coach mentioned is two-fold:

• Always endeavour to consciously have as high a vibration as possible. The higher your vibrations (or in plain English: the better you feel, and the more positive you approach life), the less likely the chance that you will subconsciously attract something you do not want to happen. I can teach you how to do that.
• When an event occurs that you consider “negative” (remember: that is YOUR judgment), have as much conscious control over your response to the situation. In life we cannot control everything. Life WILL throw curve balls, even when you think you are vibrating/feeling great. Your power then lies in your “response-ability”, and your conscious choice to see the situation either as positive or negative. LOA doesn’t care which choice you make, but I’ll bet ya: the end results of both options are like day and night: totally opposite! I can help you making the right choices consistently.

Set a Landmarc:

• Observe your feelings as good as you can: you are always vibrating, and your vibrations are always plus or minus. Your feelings will tell you what you are attracting.
• When you are vibrating minus, realize that it probably happened subconsciously, and that you can change that vibration.
• Don’t go into the “why” question too deeply. Like in the quote on top, there is a purpose in everything, but if you cannot find it yet, let it go!
• Your power lies in your response-ability. If you feel you don’t have any control over what happened, at least choose your response as positively as possible.

We cannot avoid “stuff” from happening in our lives. There is always a possibility of attracting something we do not want. Accept that, and in those cases, be in control over how you deal with that situation. The better you do that, the less bad the situation will become.
