How I Manifested the Law of Attraction

by Joann posted at 10:42 am under Law of Attraction, Manifesting

10 years ago I experienced a very challenging period in my life. It was a very difficult time but it was then that I had the opportunity to discover the power of my being. It was a period of searching for meanings & finding answers to questions. I also had the opportunity to evaluate my relationship with God. From that time on that relationship took a different direction, but towards a better one.

At the height of my anguish I used to look upon the heavens and asked why or how. One such occasion brought me to ask, “Is there anyway I can change my situation or my life through some kind of power?” No answer. Each time I cry up to Him I knew I had to be contented with asking out loud and receiving silence for a reply.

The answer came but at was in the most unexpected way and when I least expected it. The difficult time went on with me pretending everything is alright on the outside but I was being torn to pieces inside. The situation involved my parents and in an effort to mend my relationship with them I increased the frequency of my visits with them. I always time my visit during dinner because that is when we all have the chance to talk longer as we relaxed after eating.

On one occasion, we shared the dinner and had a good talk. After which, we decided to call it a night so I stood up and got ready to leave. As I was walking to the door, I happen to glance upon a bookshelf which was full of books of different genre. A green book about a foot tall caught my eye. It wasn’t actually something new. I have noticed it before but I just didn’t bother to pick it up to know what it was all about. That day, however, I walked over towards the shelf, picked up the book and read the synopsis at the back. It was not really my kind of book. I didn’t even fully understand what the synopsis said. It did say it was about perception of life events and about changing my life. So I thought I will just take it home and read it if there’s no good movie on T.V.

I took the book home. When I reached home I prepared for bed and then scanned through the T.V. channels to see if something is worth watching. Finding that there was none, I turned it off. I climbed to bed and tried to sleep but, sleep eluded me. So turned on the bedside lamp & picked up the book which was on my bedside table hoping that it will lull me to sleep. Well, contrary to my first thought I was unable to sleep at all. I was awake all night barely aware of the time as I devoured the book. I couldn’t put it down!

The first few parts were not really that remarkable, but it intrigued me because I didn’t know what is supposed to happen to the hero. It mounted to full excitement when I got to the part of the hero’s adventures. I started reading at about 8:30 pm. By the time I looked out of the window it was already light outside. A look at the clock revealed at was already 6 am and there were 2 or 3 chapters left. I finished that book that very morning. As it promised, it changed my life forever. The book was written as a fiction, but the insights it presented was not. From that day on I hunted and bought every book about the subject. I applied it to my life and have seen the result. At first, there were some successes & more failures, but as I practiced more the results got better.

That book changed the way I looked at the challenging and painful situation I was in. It made me realized that my questions have been answered all along. I just didn’t notice it before because I didn’t put meaning to the coincidences that took place. Finding the book was just one of the answers I received.

I remembered that one time I cried out to the heavens, “I am so tired of crying please make the pain go away. Have mercy.” But I went on crying. I turned on the T.V. to drown out my cries and it was on HBO. A very good movie was on. Before I knew it I was already engrossed and forgot about the my misery. After the movie I went to bed and fell asleep as soon as my head touched the pillow.

Another time I was crying hard again and begging for release. I received a very funny text message from a friend who had no idea I was already drowning in tears. I couldn’t help but laugh hard at the joke and the laughter was like a vacuum cleaner that sucked away the heaviness and pain in my chest. It didn’t matter to me that neighbors will think I was going crazy I just laughed and laughed because it felt so good.

Then there was another incident that really freaked me out. I woke up crying in the middle of the night. It was so quite and everything was so still that it added to the feeling of melancholy I was experiencing. I raved & ranted to God about him not loving me because he brought these anguish and problems to my life. I called Him a liar. I told Him He doesn’t keep His promise about loving me. I kept on repeating that He does not love me. Then I grew tired of crying and no more tears seemed to be coming out.

I turned on the T.V. and it was on EWTN the Catholic channel. Each of the

10 commandments was being shown on screen and it was on the 8th commandment. After the 10th commandment another image was shown. I couldn’t remember what the image was because my attention was captured by the words beside it. It said, “YOU ARE LOVED.” My God it blew away all painful emotions, misery, anger, and depression I was feeling! I was just so frightened!

It took me another 3 years before I finally got over that painful episode. If it hadn’t been for my innate stubbornness and my struggle for control I wouldn’t have suffered that long.

By the way, the book that led me to the law of attraction was none other than the Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. Yes it was a fiction, but it tells of how you attract the situations, the people, & the objects that may hold the answers to your questions or your problems. It tells how to notice coincidences and how they are related to the issues you are facing. It tells how the persons in your life are not just there by accident but that you attracted them because they bring messages that may help you find what you are seeking. My library now does not only contain the Celestine Prophecy, it also contains:

Wow, I see that you are an avid reader. I too have been reading similar books on self development. I’ll get those books that you’ve listed down and see what I can learn from them. My first and favourite book is “The Power Of The Subsconscious Mind” It changed my thinking and it is a very practical book.

    Great books listed here!
did you realised that what you think about and talk about, is attracted into your life by the law of attraction. “I want a lot of money, but I don’t have any. This law of attraction is a bunch of crap.” Yes, that’s what one of my friends told me. I silently shook my head because trying to teach someone who doesn’t believe is VERY difficult. Ok, here’s the problem with that statement: Within the same sentence, he contradicted his desire with his reality. Anytime you make statements affirming your current situation, THAT’s what you’re going to get. The key aspect to the law of attraction is to focus on what you want, and HOW that makes you feel. THAT’S IT!! Don’t do anything else but that. That might be difficult for some of you to do because of the situation you’re in right now-I understand that as I too have been in uncomfortable situations- but if you concentrate on your desired results, and the feelings that the results will give you, then you’re on the road to achieve it. Remember, the universe has no concept of time. Humans do because we are finite creatures, but the energy that courses through everything on this planet does NOT cease. It perpetuates throughout time.
